Sis Gerry, Not as active as Koikichi's from Klang valley but something to start with ;-)

Bro Glifford, I'll be in YM maybe around 10 am. Initially just want to see my Koi in the mud pond but now got sales, wonder what will happen :-ss

Bro Shukri, Mini group in Penang sounds good. Trying to gather Kichi's in Penang as there are many shy kichi's in Penang :-D . Imagine, my taman itself got almost 15 houses with pond but talking to one by one is challenging :-( .

Bro Nivek, No problem if can't meet up this weekend. I normally go to YM every weekend. PM me when you are free, we can meet up.

Did you cover the pot top with some gravel? For now it is ok, but after sometime there will be no plant, your will destroy it, and you can tell HM "i told you so" and throw all the pot.

The other alternative nitrate test kit is Salifert

What is the lot number of the Nitrate test kit? This is stamped on the bottle. Mine is Lot 18A1209. means it is manufactured by API on december 2009 and it will expire after three years.

Normally the instruction says shake thirty second first before apply on water. I shake for more than three minutes because it gets stock in dealer for a long time.

Bro Kevin, when i 1st started my pond I had uncovered BD too. I bought 5 tosais local which cost me RM30. In 2 days, there were all missing.....I thought "someone" or "something" got em. Then i decided to flush my pond and filter and buang the "suei". Only to find them in the filter tank after almost 80% of the water had been drained out. They were living in the BD pipe connecting to the filter!!! Thereafter, its been netted.....but suppose your kois are big enuff and as such, they wont tease around the BD

Bro Ssmann, yes initially 2 of my tosais ended up in the 1st chamber but they learn very quickly and don't repeat the same mistake LOL. Nowadays I buy mostly nisais so I'm lucky I no longer need to worry about them ending up in the filter chamber :)
