    Good Day Brother Handy :)

Indeed it's almost a year since we last met . My most sincere apology for being of little help during the Go event this time in Bandung . It's indeed a well organised event as usual , though I must add , that such event is normally at the expense of the organising team no matter where it's held . lots of pain staking efforts by all in putting one show or GO event together . Kudos to the organising team as usual . I pray all well .

My newly renovated pond is doing great , and I'm beginning to feel the new set-up and "new water" kicking in day by day . It will be another interesting growing pond I hope . Let's have tea the next time you're here . I should have something interesting everytime you're here Brother Handy ... :)

Your Beauty Smile Sanke in my Shadow's Pond is now 86bu , and she should be ready for your Indonesia Show this year . Beautiful body . You should be able to spot her in this Video I took recently .

    and here

Take good care Brother Handy , hope to meet you real soon .

    Dear show committee,

I've made a thread about this show in our Indonesian forum (KOI's). There are some question pops up about the show, such as hotels near the show ground etc. Is there anyone that could help to update any information on the show in our forum?? Cause some are willing to go to the show and some want to participate in the show. The more the merrier, right? :)

Cause this is an ASIA wide show, I think it will be nice if you can update it for us too in our English section. This is the link :

"Cause this is an ASIA wide show, I think it will be nice if you can update it for us too in our English section."

    Bro Handy,

TQ so much for the promoting the Asia Cup SHow amongst our Indonesian Kichis.
The official Hotel is CITITEL at The Mid Valley MegaMall. Anyone who needs to book rooms, can send email to club_koi@yahoo.com We are getting Group Rates.

When we were at 5th KOIS festival last month, We met Apki President Pak Budi, Golden Koi Pak Wiwi and Pak Kiki Samurai Koi. They informed that Indonesian Hobbyists will be sending some fantastic kois to fight for top honours. We have emailed show details to them. We also detailed the importation procedures for Kois from Indonesia to Malaysia.

Yamakoshi Mura Mr FP Soo have kindly agreed to provide door to door handling services for kois from Indonesia. Hobbyists may contact him.

I will put details at KOIS Forum.

Look fwd to strong participation from Indonesia!

I will be everywhere supporting every event as far as possible. Asia Cup is as good as Asia Grow Out and it's a community event for the communities...

When all come together then only we can be successful like the Japanese...

When one start to segregate themselves, this is the start of a ...

I hope to see a One Community for One KOI WORLD...

It all depends on who is going to make the 1st important STEP...

and I will do my best to support the bridge...

SHOW THE WORLD YOU DARE and SHOW THE WORLD WE CARE...

Without a doubt Yamakoshi under your leadership has done a tremendous job promoting the Koi hobby and fostering friendship in the region. You have astonished many and you continue to amaze. Wong san,

Thank you for all the compliments. Yamakoshi will not progress without the support of all the hobbyist, we have been striving to the The Hobbyist Dealer and still working hard...

Please lend your support to every event related to YMSB so we can continue to grow along with the hobbyist as a whole...

I have just confirmed Pandora is intended to come this way. The owner has sold it to Indonesian and he intend to bring it here for the challenge...

I think only Bro David will need lead the other challenger and make this event to another level...

    ZNA Committee,

Today I was informed that there are some concern raised by Indonesian hobbyist/customer...

No1 - the Asia Cup Koi Show BANNER does not exhibit last Asia Cup Grand Champion, I was told it was a tradition to use the previous GC photo for subsequent year promotion,

No2 - there are too little category in the Non Gosanke Variety. Please review and compare against the previous Asia Cup category and consider expanding the competition.

These are the 2 feedback I have for your considerations as there are quite a number of Indonesian would be participating in this Asia Cup Show...

    Good morning Brothers ,

Yes , these will be some of the Kois that will be heading for the coming show .. :)
Torazo Sanke should be 9 years old and she will just be there for the show and not to compete :) . This will probably be her last travel as she's catching up with age .
Measured 94/95bu yesterday and it's hard to imagine her growing any further . She will retire gracefully in Shadow's Pond after the show .

    Brother Ben ,

the doitsu Karashi in the current short video is not the non gosanke champion of the NHA show last year .. :)
This is one of the young sansai but she measured a whopping 80bu yesterday . Out of 3 Karashigoi I took last year , 2 had touch 80bu and this is one of it and she has the complete "zip" , both dorsal and lateral .Most of the brothers here have these karashi from Konishi almost same time . Brother Hee Heng has got one of the the same with the complete scalation work , even at the belly side . Believe they are all as big now ?? Will also try to do up the short video of the bigger Doitsu Karashigoi from last year NHA show . She broke most of the tail fine bones last year during the show when she measured 83bu . She now measured a whopping 92bu yesterday when we bowled her up for measurement . No sign of the old injuries at all . She healed completely .. :) She will be a fine specimen of doitsu Karshigoi that's complete in all aspect , skin , coloration , scalation work and most importantly , a well endowed bodyline .

I am replying on behalf of Mr Ng Yit Kok President ZNA Msia

    Soo-San, Bro Handy
TQ very much for your feedback which is much appreciated.

(1)Use the previous GC photo for subsequent year promotion.

We have contacted Pak Budi (APKI) to seek his help to get a high resolution file of the winning Omosako Showa. Once received, we will use it for all subsequent promotion materials.

    (2) Too little category in the Non Gosanke Variety.

Actually we very much like to have more varieties and we have discussed this matter before we decided on the varieties and sizes.

The following are our observations based on the take up rate in non Gosanke varieties.
In many of the shows in the region including those that have kois exceeding 1,500 pcs & where non-gosanke is popular, many of the varieties and at various sizes have very poor entries; sometimes as little as 1 to 3 kois. From recent results published for major Japanese shows, this is also the phenomenon.

As the 4th Asia show is held in Malaysia, we also reviewed our 10 years show statistics, the problem becomes even more apparent becuse we regard non-gosanke as "Charp Yue" :-| . We were torn between the wish for more varieties and the issue of poor entries in the non-gosanke categories.

However, If there is genuine demand and participation, this can be brought to the committee for consideration. So it will help tremendously, if you can quickly suggest which non-gosanke varieties will enjoy good participation and should be a category by itself. We have also spoken to Bro Handy (Monscine) about this and he will discuss this his peers.

    Cheers

    Bro David,
Watching the video and admiring the "Kaw Kaw" Hi on white canvas of your kois, in what I thought was a measuring tub. Hmnn.. Bro David really meant no big guns... mostly smaller kois.. then I saw the hand touching Miss Torazo to realise some of the others are also as big!
hee hee hee.... "Some of my contenders... and your sign off "The Best is Yet to Come ." :-bd This can only mean the really Big Guns are under wraps and David-San never dissappoint. :-D

TQ very much for your undying support! (handshake)

My Karashi is in Paul's (KL) pond. Havent seen her for months. Maybe Bro Paul can update its size now. Bro Paul said most probably a Batang lah.

Bro Wong, the sex experts who have examined the karashi feel it is a he. Growth also very slow, so I suspect they may be right. Probably only about 50cm, just my estimate. Other brothers who bought from this batch of doitsu karashigoi also reported similarly slow growth as compared to the scaled versions which grow really fast. Dunno how come Brother David's doitsu one can grow so fast wor. :/

"Yat fun Cheen Yat fun fore" ... Maybe you're right Brother Hee Heng :)

Those that were sold by brother Max then were more expensive indeed , and they were from the Jumbo Tosai batch , gauranteed female , which I think there were only a handful . Mason and Adik came to my office a couple months back and saw the karashigoi in my small pond , and Mason was telling me his is already above 60bu and wanted me to measure mine because mine look closed to 70bu , but he and adik both were surprised when the karashi from the same batch measured 79bu ... :) way above the 70bu mark . These big growers carry the growth genetic in them , and it's quite obvious when you see them in the same spawn as their other fishlings .... ;-) Even Brother Max was surpried at the growth rate of these Karashigoi , which was why in the video , he exclaimated that the doitsu karashigoi can hit 1 meter easily ..... :-D ... 2 years more maybe ...

Just when you think "tateshita" is a term used only in Gosanke , it can actually apply to any species of Kois .....

Wow Brother David, initially we had no idea how big they are and as pointed by Bro Wong, until the last frame the hand appears giving us the perspective of size. Yet, they look so very youthful. Very very nice, and I particularly like the maruten kohaku. - actually all of them looks excellent This is a show no to be missed!!! We are lucky indeed to have these world class kois coming to KL =D> .

    And of course Pandora... woww

    Brother Anuar :)

The tub that was used for measuring the fishes is 1.5 meter long and it came with wheels from Japan . This is the latest type of tub that has been in use in some of the bigger farm now . It comes with a measuring tape of 1.2 meter as well . This allow safer handling and measurement of bigger fishes , but it provide lots of leeway for smaller fishes to be jumping out of the tub ... ;-)

Now .. To all the Singapore Hobbyists who has intention to attend the 4th Asia koi Show , we have arranged a 24 seater coach to be leaving Singapore on the 20th May , Friday at 1200 pm from Max Koi Farm . 12 seats are reserved ... so there's 12 seats still available . Please pen down your name if you have intention to join the group going up to attend the show with our local boys this time . The Coach will proceed straight to the show site on Friday . It has been arranged to return to Singapore on Sunday , 22nd May , leaving the show site at 5.00pm bound for Singapore . This Coach is specifically booked for those attending the Koi Show ...

Promise the journey will not be boring , and for those who wants to know more about Momotaro fishes and koi keeping , we have Daisuke on the coach to help answer your queries ..
Brother Spencer and Brother Poh Beng , both you guys are on the 12 reserved seating list , so if you can;t attend the show or follow the coach , please keep Brother Max inform .. :)

We will be making the Hotel Reservation this week , and would hope those who are interested to be putting up with us to also confirm their stayand Hotel reservation . We have not confirmed which hotel to book yet , but likely to book Shangri-La or Inter Continental as recommeded by Brother Paul Hooi .

I Wish All an enjoyable trip .

    David .

Brother Mark , are you still putting up with us , or are you putting up with the judges at cititel ?? If you want to put up with us I will include you in the booking list for the Hotel reservation ... and I will make sure you will e able to find the barrels during the bus ride around the KL town !!! ;-)

the last coach didn't make it like what you suggested. The Indonesian and Thais are making the same arrangement and it could mean a mighty contingent and bigger than expected, hope you really can gather the momentum...

Brother David, my apologies, the hotel I wanted to recommend was Grand Millennium, not Intercontinental. I believe it is owned by CDL of Singapore, and sited just next to Pavilion and walking distance to the Sungei Wang, Lot 10, Starhill and Fahrenheit shopping centres as well as the Imbi food area (including Oversea restaurant and the bak kut teh square). My apologies, kao chor the name earlier today.

Bro Hee Heng and show committee,

Through some discussions today at Surabaya with some dealers, hobbyists and also Mr. Budi (APKI chairman), we conclude that we fully understand why the classifications are reduced to 10. However, if we may suggest, the doitsu is better to classified to one dedicated variety.

There are some more issues that we need to clear out and need directions :
    A. The kois which are sent from Indonesia to KL :
    1. What's the consignee name and address? They want to send the kois directly to KL, can this be done?
    2. Who's the handler whom will responsible at KL airport to the show ground?
    3. Who will be corespondent for the show and what's the official email address?
    4. After the judging, the dealers plan to bring back their kois at sunday. Let's say, they'll have afternoon flight to bring them back, then could they doing the packing at sunday morning? And who will incharge to work on exporting them to Indonesia? This quite important as they need the papers, such as packing lists and so on.
    5. APKI will help to deal with our fisheries department regarding special export and import license to make shipping and returning the kois easier. However, they need the list of the kois to be sent to KL at least 2 weeks ahead the show date. We'll coordinate about this.

    B. If the kois are sent from Japan directly to KL, and afterthat ship them to Indonesia :
    1. Is there any coordinator at Japan? Let's say, they want to send some kois from Niigata, is there any person in charge in Japan to arrange that?
    2. Quite the same as above, they need the consignee name, address, and so on. Who's the handler? Any special requirements needed to import the kois directly from Japan?

This is for now. I'll make coordination with some dealers after I get your respond to these matters. You can PM me, call me or contact me through my email at monscine@gmail.com

    Cheers,
    Handy

PS. : They acknowledged about the change of koi picture on the poster. They appreciate the committee about it. Many thanks

She just gave me RGC at this 7th All Indonesian Young Koi Show and her size is perfectly at 65cm. If she's just in well condition, then she'll fly to KL. :)>-

TQ for acting as our "ambassador". Your quick actions is commendable.

We are having committee mtg on Wednesday and will discuss the logistic issues for Kois & aslo the request for Doitsu category. Just to be sure; you are talking about having a Doistu category for both gosanke and non-gosanke? Or just doitsu Gosanke will be ok.

We will respond with info after the meeting.

    Bro Hwong,

I support and I do what I can do for the our region koi community. We need a little piece of sparkplug to make the whole machine run. If nobody cares, then it would be just like that.

Just skip the doitsu category matter, we just follow what's the committee decide. It's only our opinion that doitsu (gosanke or non-gosanke) is better to be apart as individual class. I don't know myself whether there will any doitsu be sent to KL from here. :)>-

Now I have to push some dealers that wish to send some contender to make a list and hand it to APKI to get special export import permit. Mr. Budi said the due date is 2 weeks prior to the show date, which is less than a week from now.

    Hi Mark,

There is no fixed classifications. In this case, and as per my earlier explanation, there is not enough participation in some varieties. If the just completed All Indonesia Young Koi show results is to go by, our decision is the correct one, especially when we factor in the local situation.

I appreciate that some varieties will not have great competition or level of entries, it could be argued that this encourages greater numbers of entries in those categories in future shows as people see an opportunity to win a award.
